I get this Sam a sometimes wake up with two numb hands it's horrible and that first toilet trip of the day is such a pain. It does ease off for me, starts very intense though and wakes me up.

Have you started infliximab yet? Not heard from you since you said you were waiting to get a start date? I wondered how you were. Jill x

Hi samhawks....I do get numb fingers/thumbs both neurologicaly and also because of neck problems with Cervical Spondylosis. When I wake up with it, it's usually because the nerves in the neck have been pressing.

I think the thumb refers to a particular nerve/vertebrae called the unlar in C6 -C7 of the neck which lead to your thumb.

Could be the way you slept or inflammation in that area......try ibuprophen gel on the back of neck bones, top of shoulder and the wrist/thumb. If it doesn't calm down you may need to see your G.P.

Good luck with the Infliximab....you should hopefully get some relief from your symptoms, but for me it has taken a while of repeat doses to really kick in.

Hi, Gosh it isn't just me all these weird things keep happening to then? I had the same thing with fingers on my right had at the weekend, they still feel tingly now. On Tuesday I woke up and my feet and ankles were a bit swollen, I thought it might have been I was just hot from being in bed. After my shower I always moisturise and noticed they were numb, like your cheek goes at the dentist numb! Over the course of the day they swelled up again. Today on waking only my right foot is a little puffy, but is still numb all over foot, round ankle and about a 3rd of the way up my leg. Bizzar! C x

Just about every morning, I wake up and my pinky finger and the one next to it on my left hand are tingly or numb. My back also lets me know its not happy. The fingers stop tingling after a while, 15 mins maybe? Back usually gets a bit better but not totally. BD related? Who knows. Sorry to hear you and others have these items. when will it ever stop..

Add me to the list. I have similar symptoms to Dan_NY, with my pinky finger and side of my right hand tingly and numb, but that can last u to five or six hours for me. It makes playing the piano (which I love) almost impossible, and then the palm of my hand goes numb! Strange things, but who knows if they are linked to BD!!
