Dawnie Hun....... never mess about with eye problems !
Always get help asap as there is so much that can happen to your eyes and they don't grow back once they are damaged so go get some advice from a professional now please. Okay ? mwah !
When I was in my late 20s I had several of those yellowish eye ulcers in both eyes for over 15 years. At the time I wasn't aware they were probably a symptom of Behcet's. I went to an Opthamologist and was told they were permanent and nothing could be done.
About 10 years ago I looked in the mirror one day and they were GONE - pretty much like most Behcet's symptoms. If I had gone to an Opthamologist in the beginning who had knowledge of Behcet's they may have been able to give me some answers, or at least prescribe something to ease the irritation. To this day I don't know if those ulcers contributed to the damage that has been done to my eyes. Can't really get a straight answer from any doctor.
Hope you can find a knowledgeable eye doctor!
Oh well, Live (in pain sometimes) and learn. Best of luck!
I went to an opticians (before diagnoses) and they sent me straight to A & E it was from there that I was seen at the eye clinic and whilst they took my medical history the doctor said I know what is wrong with you and then sent me to see the consultant who was an expert on BD! That was the start of my diagnoses. I have been told if I ever have anything wrong with my eyes in the future to go and get it checked straight away at any hospital and tell them you are a BD paitient. Haven't had to do that since being told so don't know what reception I would get !!!
I was also told if i got any problem or even worried about my eyes to go straight to the hospital and tell them i have BD. I would go see a dr hunni its better to be safe than sorry. X
I did have them, prior to diagnosis or ever having even heard of BD. And like the respondent above, one day they were just gone.
But this has rung such a bell with me! My mum had one for years and the GP wanted to send her to hospital for it. She thought it was cos her dad had syphilis when she was conceived (a family rumour with no proof) and was very embarrassed by it. And guess what? One day it just disappeared.
