IUD and sex

Just wanted to check so I don't mess this appointment up....I have a copper IUD and have been recently having pain during sex around the area it sits in (ie my cervix) so on Monday I'm going to go and check to see if it's still in place/in the right place.

But the weekend is me and my husbands romantic time and he'll want to have relations πŸ™„πŸ™„

Would that mess up their ability to see whether the IUD is still in place or not??

I know before a smear/Pap test you can't do it 24 hours before so would it being the same type of thing for this??

I know the "if you're not sure if it's in place don't have sex" thing but I'm wondering if it would mess up my appointment with the gyno on Monday

(can't have sex today as I've just had a Brazilian wax done πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚)

Thanks in advance for your help/opinions
