Sick whilst on the pill

hi so on saturday morning i took my pill at normal time 9am this is my first pill back from my 7 day break, i was sick at around 12-2pm and then was sick later in the day from a tummy bug. will my pill have been in my system by that time, i didnt take another pill but ive continued to take my next day (sunday) and the following days after at 9am again but had sex today will i be protected? ive been on this pill for around 3 years now

Talk to yr gp or pharmacy ASAP. Online isn't really the best place to get time critical information about such an important thing.Good luck

By sick do mean vomiting ? If you had a seven day break , that means you are on the combined pill not POP. Normally if you didn't absorb the pill and that extended your pill free week by a day, then you might need emergency contraception. The chance of ovulation occurring however is extremely small.

The NHS webpage says 3 hours , so if you are sure the vomiting was more than 3 hours after taking it, you should be covered.

Hi yes it was vomit, think I had a tummy bug, I can’t say what exact time it was as I was really poorly but I think it was between 12-2 which would have been 3-4 hours after taking it,I’ve read some people say missing one day either at the end or start of a pack won’t really hurt and I’d be protected still? If taken correctly from that day on

Also if I use extra protection for 7 days is it until I’ve had 7 whole days or will I be protected again once I’ve taken my 7th pill?

extending the pill free week is usually a concern. If your timings are correct you haven't done this. Extra precautions are for 7 days so day 8 ok to resume unprotected sex
