Loestrin 30 is not low oestrogen - it has 30 mcgs of oestrogen - as does Microgynon. There are 20 mcg pills out there. It can be the oestrogen amount, or the type of progestogen , that can cause issues. Speaking to your GP, or a reproductive health service if in the UK , can help decide what to move to next ( if there is not a generic form of loestrin 30 available )
Please see my edited post. I am just pointing out these are not low oestrogen pills. They are lower than Cilest ( 35mcg ) and Dianette but most pills are 30mcgs.
Yes they both contain the same progestogen , norethisterone. So long as the increased dose of oestrogen doesn't cause you issues, you shouldn't have problems.
Hi ive been on Brevinor for the past 3 years the combined pill i went on it fter having my 2nd child to use as a form of contraception and because i was told by the doctor that it was simuler to the pill binovum that i was taking before and after having my 1st child. Both pills worked well for me Brevinor gave me no side effects i didnt bleed in between periods only on my 7 day break. Microgynon 30 was ok too i tookit fir 7 years with no problems untill i started getting a heavy weak feeling in both my arms every morning i thought at firt it was maybe the way i had slept but then it got worse i had pins and needles and the heavy feeling and weakness in my arms got worse i came off the pill with doctirs advice just to see if it was related and after 1 week it stopped. I hopethis helps
Hi Dani, I started a week ago Microgynon and having a heavy and pressure feeling in my calves so could be related, did they tell you what your arm feeling could have been?
Hi sorry for late reply the doctors were sayibg that with the heavyness i was feeling in my arms were simuler to that of blood clots but normaly felt in your legs i was told to come off it to see if it stopped and it did. Its strange because id been on microgynon 30 for 7 years with no problems until then. Hope this helps. Just check with your doctor it might be the pill or sonething else.
