Progesterone pill bleeding

Hi I'm on the progesterone only pill destrogen, cerlle. I have been on the pill for 3 months. I had no bleeding for those months, until now... I've had a light period for 2 weeks, getting ever so slightly heavy as the days progress... Is this sort of bleeding normal on this pill? I know break through bleeding and irregular periods are a side effect, but I'm wondering if this lenght of time is ordinary or if anyone else has similar experiences with this pill.

My first 6 months were all messed up on cerrelle. I have not bled for over a year now. So I bled each month for about a week for the first 3 months then bled for over 3 weeks so i stopped taking it for a week until i stopped bleeding so in all it was a month of bleeding. I started taking it again then nothing . Fingers crossed because I like the nothing.

unscheduled bleeding can happen with the POP. check a chlamydia test if new partner.

I'd say yes... when you've just started it for 3 months there's good enough chance that you're still in the phrase of having the breakthrough bleeding. Also, the progesterone pills are totally infamous for the whimsical cycle in the beginning and irregular bleeding. If you search your brand of contraceptive pills online you'll find the irregular bleeding at the first symptom of getting on the pill. I think you should check for 2 months more for the cycles to get stable. If otherwise then you can seek help from your gynae... and seek alternative brands that can suit your case. It so happens that from hormonal contraceptive pills sometimes a couple of change in type and brand might be needed before you figure out what suits you most comfortably with minimum side effects. If you just started 3 months before then and haven't messed up with regular regime there's no way you have any chance of accidental pregnancy. It's just the time when everything is just setting into the pill induced management. I hope it all get sorted soon and you get relieved of this irksome bleeding pattern.

Hiya, it can take anywhere from 6-12months for your body to properly settle down and find its routine. On my previous contraception I bled on and off for the entire 9 months I had it. I went back and fire the doctors and they just told me it was normal. I think give yourself another few months and if nothings changed maybe contact your doctor to see what you can then do in order to help this situation. It isn’t nice or necessarily comfortable so remember you don’t have to put up with it! Xx
