Pain is normal. When I had my hormonal coil fitted I was sore for a day or two with cramping. I would suggest some ibuprofen and a hot water bottle, and if your symptoms don't ease up, go to the GP. I ended up having a minor water infection about a week after insertion. Hope this helps!

If the pain gets worse or you develop a fever with hardish tummy and slight touch cause you to stiffen up, you need to see a dr ASAP as sometimes coil can go through the womb. Not trying to scare you but making you aware of the symptoms. You can have a uti post coil fitting too. See your GP
