Late Period.

I have never had a late period before. Although I have has early ones. I have also never skipped a period. I am not sexually active but I am really worried. I was also supposed to get my Nexplanon put in this month when I got my period but I have yet to get my period. I am two weeks late. I have gotten some brown / dark cream colored discharge. An advice could soothe my mind.

Periods can vary and the discharge you are having sounds a bit like your period is starting but if there has been any risk of pregnancy (unprotected sex) you should take a pregnancy test. I'd definitely go for you implant fitting appointment as most clinics will fit the implant in between periods if there is no pregnancy risk.

I am not sexually active, so it could not be pregnancy. My discharge will one day be dark and another day it will be normal.

How old are You? Because your periods can be crazy even if you've never been irregular before. Also if you've been stressed out it could be late too.

I am 15. I am always stressed so not much of a change.

Well there you go, you're only young. Mine started regular when I started at thirteen. By sixteen they were all over the bloody place (pun intended) and I couldn't keep track of them at all. Now I'm twenty three and have a 35 day cycle when I used to have a 28 day cycle, and I had a lot of things similar to what you're dealing with.

It could also be that you've had an incredibly light period - those things do happen - or if you're changing from the pill (if you're on it) to nexplanon, it could be breakthrough bleeding, which again, is perfectly normal.

I don't think you need to worry, but if you are worried, I would go to a GUM clinic or speak to a nurse at your GP surgery, particularly ones putting in your Nexplanon because they know their stuff.
