Hi Karen,

Welcome!

Not much of an answear, but knowledge by reading and/or support group seems like a good start!

Recommend Tony Attwood. Books, youtube etc

I would also like to know more about ”solutions”, therapies, medications, supplements, anything!

Hi Karen

For your childs privacy perhaps change your name in the posting?

You are right there is no cure and little follow up post autism dx. I presume since. Your child is older he is at the high functioning end? Speak with the various autism societies for advice on resources or help with identifying specific needs and adjustments. Autism is classified as a disability and a protected characteristic from employment perspective.

Local health boards may have support groups and resources also. That’s all I have found!

Hi Karen, just wanted to add, as your Son is an adult, you can look Into getting him an Adult Social Care Worker. They can help, work out his Needs, Do Needs Assessment. Also whether you need to be his Appointed Carer, you can get Power of Attorney with this, deal with his Finances, if he isn't able or struggles. As for Medical, if he has Capacity, understands & can make his own choices, advicate for himself, you will only be abled to know, what your Son wants you to & will not be able to findout, talk to Medical professionals on his behalf, Unless he Gives his Formal Permission. All good advice on here & do alot of researching, online & look for Autistic Spectrum friendly Groups, Art, Music, Hobbies, Gym too.
