I have just recently had one of my teeth removed. Does anyone have any tips on how to cope with the overwhelming sensory issues? I am having major trouble with the difference in how my mouth feels and I don't know what to do.

Hi there,

Having a tooth extracted is a big thing and so firstly, give yourself a well done on that part. After the procedure our mouths can feel really strange for a few days and as easy as it is to say when you aren't experiencing this, it does start to feel "ok" again. If you feel pain there, take pain relief like paracetamol and do things the dentist told you as aftercare. I had root canal work done on Friday and I started to feel really dizzy as well as my mouth feeling strange and some pain too. It is better than it was today. It will take a few days and maybe distract yourself with things you normally use when you are sensory? What things usually help and do you have family/friends who can help too?

If you are in the UK can can call 111 if you are worried about it to talk to someone or even your GP.
