Re: today's news item about overweight passengers on flights.

I was incensed when I listened to the news this morning, being reminded of an

unpleasant 8hr flight when I felt literally squashed by the person sitting in front.

After paying for Premium Economy I didn't expect to be so confined.

Immediately after take-off the passenger in front of me fully reclined his seat, and

it stayed that way during meals, he overflowed the seat, I had difficulty getting out

to go to the toilet! This man was wearing a suit, obviously on business, if he

needed that much extra space why didn't he pay for Upper Class?

I became more and more agitated, claustrophobic and stressed. Almost to the

point of air rage! A flight attendant told me to ask the man to move his seat forward,

but other than that obviously didn't want to get involved.

Much was said this morning about not penalising people for their body image.

Anyway my point is, after reading various comments on the Sky News site, I came

across one which asked, should people be penalised and charged for their

wheelchair, it also being extra weight?

Will there ever be a sensible conclusion to this particular problem?

in answer to your point there is no way of deciding if a person is able to control their weight ect for example was his size due to hormones or him being a fat pig the hormones could explain the size but it sounds like it wouldn't explain the pig part. Some people are unable to have any control over their size [ and before you judge I am well within my bmi ] but as there is no test to check size yet the question remains is someone overweight at 140 pounds yes if they are 4ft 8 but no if they are 6ft 8

I think it has more to do with consideration than the mans size. If all people would treat others like they wish to be treated, the world would surely be a better place! Some people have no thought process when it comes to this, as they only think of themselves and their comfort. I guess I would kindly tell that person I need a bit more room, and hopefully they'll comply! ;o)
