Trembling

Hello

I have SCA6 and it has been effecting my life for about 5 years, I am 67 years old,

Just recently my hands have started to shake. If I just hold them out, nothing happens but if I hold a cup they or an unbalanced weight they start shaking.

Has anyone come across this type of trembling and is there anything that can be done to reduce it?

Thank you.

🙂 I don’t have SCA6..but I do know ‘trembling’ is fairly common.

It’s worth speaking to either your GP, or Neurologist..medication could be offered to help with this.

Could be intention tremors. Difficult to treat, and can be very disabling if progressive.

It might be worth me mentioning here, when I had private home personal trainer, she tried to get me walking holding my hands but trembled uncontrollably. I asked my nhs neurophysio about it and she explained how messages from brain to muscles are affected by what we hold on to. Hope that helps x
