Gettimg worse

In the past, probably more than a year ago, I used to get this forum on a daily basis.

Then, inexplicably, it suddenly stopped.

Every time after a fall or even a mild sickness, my Cerebellar Ataxia gets a bit worse but after the heart failure had half e year ago, my very frequent migraines stopped.

No explanation for that.

I have RFC1CANVAS. Like you I suffer with chronic migraine headaches. Nobody has made the connection between Ataxia and these headaches. I will talk to them ASAP.

Very strange about your situation. Have you spoken to your doctor about this yet?

I have CANVAS but I don't have migraines, are they definitely linked to Ataxia, if they are I will ask my Neuro about this next time I see him.

🙂Welcome back

It’s good to know migraines have stopped.

My ‘Idiopathic ataxia’…has had many ‘plateaus’ over the years…being stable for a while, then noticeably worsening..then stable for a while. I’ve had extensive testing..including Whole Genome Sequencing.

Recently..there’s been a definite progressive change, balance is much worse…and I’m experiencing Vestibular Migraines.

Yes it's all a mystery to me too. Nice to hear from you again. Patsy

Hi there, do you know what sort of ataxia you have? There is a link between migraines and headaches with gluten ataxia. It's all to do with the autoimmune system and crossing the blood brain barrier which gluten antibodies can do.Also I have, and spoken to others who have tinnitus and vestibular problems.

If you are idiopathic try going gluten free but you must do it 100% and monitor how you feel. I wasted over 2 years at the ENT department and all the time my ataxia was getting worse. No diagnosis, they did not know what it was. Even atrophy of cerebellum was missed. Good luck.
