Covid and Ataxia

I have SCA6 and recently tested positive for Covid. I have none of the usual Covid symptoms but my Ataxia symptoms are much worse. Impossibly dizzy, uncoordinated legs, difficulty walking and very weak. Has anyone else experienced this with Covid?

A month ago I had Covid…and it was awful.

The first 24hrs passed in a blur…I hardly knew where I was and needed to stay in bed.

After that fatigue was overwhelming, I barely ate for days, couldn’t tolerate tea or coffee ..just drinking water.

Control over balance worsened..I had to be extra careful.

It was almost a week later when I felt ‘normal’.

It isn’t unusual for Covid symptoms to affect people slightly differently.

A friend (diagnosed SCA6) had Covid around the same time, he felt fatigued and symptoms worsened…but he’s made a full recovery 🙂
