I’m just wondering if anyone knows how unpaid carers & receiving the Covid vaccine works.
My husband is my main carer but still works throughout the day, when he’s at work my daughter now helps with my care, due to her being furloughed. Would he now be entitled to the vaccine with the vulnerable group(number 6 in the list)or is it only for those who claim carers allowance?
We aren’t entitle to any help from anywhere-money wise due to his yearly earnings, so I’m unsure if he will fall into this category, doesn’t anyone know who exactly falls into the ‘unpaid carers’ group please.
Many thanks in advance for any help.

Haha sorry I just seen your response, it gave me a wee chuckle. Yes my family are from a similar background... From a place called Drumchapel in Glasgow. Now I turned out to be a criminal justice social worker... That one went down well haha.
I'm Lucy, 32 from Glasgow.. SCA2 sufferer nice to make your acquaintance 😊 hope you're well xx
My wife is my carer, I get DLA and my State Pension...... My wife used to get carers allowance until she reached retirement age, thenDWP said she is getting her pension, so cannot have carers allowance too.
So my wife has been an unpaid carer for nine years so far.
Now heres the question, I am 77 and expect to be called to my GPs surgery for my vaccine soon, but will they give my wife the vaccine as my carer, she is 69 years of age??
It was the forms so my husband can have 'carer' marked on his records which will enable him to have the vaccine with me. Also for collecting medicine and if we wanted, him talking about my condition.
Oh I haven’t received one of those. I’ve told my husband he needs to ring the health centre up & let them know he’s my main carer & to ask if his names down to receive it at the same time as me, I have my medication delivered but he picks it up when needed so the chemist know him well. Hopefully after the top 4 have been done it won’t be too long before group 6 comes around! Fingers crossed 🤞
