How much does money influence outcomes in the UK?

I have been recently ‘diagnosed’ with Cerebellar Ataxia. If I was a billionaire, how would my prognosis change I wonder?

Unfortunately there are a number of illnesses which so far have no cure. e.g. Parkinson’s, Motor Neuron Disease some cancers M.S Ataxia etc, but the wonderful scientists in the world are working very hard to find cures for all these illnesses Obviously these various charities always want more funds but I don’t think anyone with big money would suddenly have a cure

Keep safe and try and be cheerful

Hi, thank you for the reply. While I appreciate that for many illnesses/diseases there is no cure or even a meaningful treatment. I really was wondering if cost is a barrier to any treatments that could offer some help. Even if the improvement was marginal it could make a difference.

My Neurologist is such a nice genuine man when i saw him last month 3rd time in 18 mnths he told me that after every test he has had done on me sadly no more he could do,but he wasnt happy with my raspy voice yesterday i had a camera up my nose and they discovered nodes so having op on 24th of this month.No matter how much money i have or have not the outcome would be the same.Dr Hanji QCLH such a nice man.

having more money wouldn't change your outcome for a cure as one doesn't exist yet. But it would be nice to have enough money so that I could afford to travel in comfort and stay in very comfortable hotels

Of course, a billionaire might donate a few millions to research to support the search for a cure.
