Question about SCA2

Sorry, this question is probably asked often. I’ve recently been diagnosed with SCA2 (37 CAG) and turning 52. I have very little symptoms other than a little unstable. What’s the normal progression of symptoms? Or is it different in every case? I’d like to here some success stories. My uncle had the same thing it started in his 40’s and he lived into his 80’s. Is that common?

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

It seems to be different in each case my husband has SCA2, as does his sister and their mother before them he’s mid 40s and unable to walk unaided, cannot swallow, and progressing quite quickly his elder sister didn’t show symptoms until recently and is just a little unsteady - his mum was in a care home and died in her early 50s. He also has a cousin who was much younger and By her mid thirties was completely bed bound by it along with an aunt who is in her 60s with very few notable symptoms so it seems everyone’s trajectory with it is a little different!

Sorry if that’s not really helped!

it all varies! depends on individual. My bro has the same, he is worried his 2 sons inherited it. I am childless, those much more progressed than him and keep coping with all better then him.
