My son got the chicken pox vaccine when he was 2 years old and got cerrebellitis virus from it. It was so severe I almost lost him. He was hospitalized for several weeks. He was given steroids and eventually gained back his balance but has has several mental issues since then. Has anyone heard of long term effects from this?

I think tho most people fully recover in more serious cases there can be longer lasting damage. I am not medical tho so you would need to check this out with soemone who is. I am in education tho and I have taught and met many children who have overcome barriers to live full lives despite medical and neurological conditions. Take care and seek medical advice and get them to signpost you to where you should go next to meet your child's needs, there is support out there its just about knowing who to contact. Depending on your child's age it will be GP, health visitor or even nursery/ school who will be best placed to signpost you where to go next for advice and support.

Take care x

Thank you! He is 23 now but had behavioral problems all through school. He said he didn’t want to be like that, but just gets angry inside his head and can’t control it and makes impulsive decisions. He was in special education all of high school. No one is sure what’s causing it, that’s why I wondered if it could be this? I have been searching for help for years. Hopefully having the internet I can get more guidance.

there is a data base for vaccine injuries in US, and your doctor or hospital is required to send this report to them. Most don't. there is also a vaccine injury court. I pray that your son makes a full recovery, but it might be helpful to contact the Nat'l Vaccine Injury Center for more direction abt what to do next to help your son.

I am absolutely horrified. You cannot be from Europe, as I've never heard of immunisation for chicken pox, more like chickenpox parties, so we all go through it at once...Unpleasant rashes and if you scratch like me, a couple of scars, but not bad...I heard immunising measels, mumps & rubella. Would never go for triple MMR vacCINE BUT INDIVIDUALLY, I suffer from a skin disease, that immunity compromised, so don't even remember being immunised for mmr, single shots....This mmr shortages of immunised kids worldwide, I am not surprised...saw with my own eyes a boy born fine, within 3 months a first combined shot of mmr vaccine and severely autistic....So would think twice. Don't have kids of my own...
