For quite a few years, I've woken up in the morning (as was the case earlier) and found that my chest and groin area were soaked with sweat.
My entire body felt stiff and very sore, and I notice that for some unknown reason, the inner part of my tongue feels very sore as if I had bitten it during my sleep without knowing until I woke up.
That has happened many times, and then it takes a while for my tongue and body to heal and the discomfortment (as you can appreciate) is very unpleasant.
Sorry to be so frank, but in order for you to understand, i'll mention that my nighclothes were soaked in sweat when I woke up and I can't understand why this keeps happening.
Perhaps it's due to the way I my body was positioned during the night?
I slept on my sofa last night and apart from the aforementioned discomfortment, I slept fairly well.
If you have, or are experiencing similar problems during sleep, please respond.
Thanks.

I haven't experienced night sweats, but, I do have issues with the inner part of my tongue feeling sore (particularly by the back of my teeth) after sleeping - it happens during the day too.
Thanks for responding to my post and sharing your experience about accidently biting your tongue. As the morning progresses, my body and tongue are starting to recover but I still feel unwell.
I had to cancel my UV treatment at the local hospital because of this
and i'm gonna try to relax and hope that tonight's sleep will be better.
I suffered night sweats for months but no soreness it really got on top me as I was up two or three times a night soaking wet. It turned out it was the medication I was taken (sertraline).
If you’re on any meds maybe check the list of side effects to see if night sweats is one of them.
I've had night sweats. It could be sleep apnoea. All I really know is that I now have a CPAP machine for sleep apnoea and I sleep much better. As an unexpected bonus I haven't had a night sweat (at least not yet after 9 months of a CPAP)
