Headaches

Does anyone else suffer headaches in the evening? Almost every evening around 6-7 I get a headache, I put it down to being on my feet too long during the day and preparing dinner.

I don't suffer in the same way but by evening I am often totally exhausted. I believe that MENTAL fatigue is the cause ( ie not physical) as a direct result of having to think through every movement during the day.

I suffer with afternoon headaches and my start between 5 and 6 and I have to afternoon nap( about 1/2 h) - cannot do it without it. I reduced my working hours a bit but cannot see the difference on my days off even when I’m rested headaches still comes and nap is needed. My neurologist gave me some medication for headache which I have been taken for 7 months every night but they only helped to reduce the strength of headaches not eliminate them. Take care x

I'm not surprised you have headaches, it might be that you are coping with so much (from a previous post). I can't offer much except personal experience which might be totally irrelevant to you- too much coffee, chocolate and stress give me headaches. It might be worth getting your eyes checked, even a little problem on top of everything else might tip the balance. I wake up with headaches and find breathing in fresh air can help- maybe it is just the deep breathing. I did go and see a hypnotherapist, I had a huge amount to try to deal with over a year ago and he have me a meditation to try. It really helped me, to my surprise, I stopped using it after a while but will again if stressed, it helped me sleep well.

Do you recall what this medication was called?

No medication for stress. I can add that almost all my constant headache/migraine (and I mean constant) went soon after stopping eating any gluten at all. Just FYI.

Thanks for the advice.

You could try cutting out gluten and sugar

I have a 4&5 yr old and the noise in the evenings intensifies it. The busyness of things, the visual stimulation and frequently changing task on a whim is a major contributing factor.

If I "overdo" things be it walking, standing, etc, I get stiff and sore limbs and terrible brain fog two days later. My low time hits around the same time the kids burst in from afterschool and I am making dinner.

Yes it’s true it the whole thing isn’t it all exhausting overstimulation in all senses and I’m not good with juggling all balls in the air are you physical or emotional 😩 I just try and deal with everything one day at a time x
