Good evening!

My husband has SCA7 and quite often suffers from severe lower back pain. Usually, it lasts foor about an hour, during which he can't move at all. But today it lasts the whole day and he can't get off the bed.

Have you experienced similar situation and what how did you deal with it?

Not me personally but can understand how bad posture caused by ataxia could be the reason for back pain. 😢

Not everything is ataxia related.. A GPs opinion could be useful.

Hi, I have degenerative disc disease in lower back. It can act up where I can’t move from pain. I had an XRay to diagnose. I take flexoril (cyclobenzaprine ) when it does. Also heating pad or wear capsaicin patch. It takes a full week or more to feel better. Probably a good idea to get an X-ray and diagnose. You can wait til he feels better to get. Good luck.

Try taking turmeric.

I take curcuma rather than turmeric as it's the compound in turmeric. I have oesto arthritis in my neck, and pretty sure in my lower back too. It definitely works for me xx
