Doctors and others tell me that I need to drink alot of water but when I do I pee the bed? What do I do?

I hate having to pee myself every night so I just started to drink less water. I feel like a little kid wetting the bed. Is there any suggestions of how I can stop this... Any answer would be very significant now.

Dear Illerpath, You could try wearing those underpants for urinary incontinance. If that doesn't work, I'd talk with your doctor, as maybe they he have a medication you could take that would help or some other suggestions. Also, try not to drink anything after 3:00 pm. My best to you..., ;o)

I was told that by not drinking, urine gets more concentrated which aggravates the bladder more.

Incontinence pads help with the leaking. You could set an alarm to go at night.

Thanks for your suggestions I will definitely try to set an alarm or use an incontinence pad, i will see what works out for me.

Try drinking pure apple juice several times a day, cut down on the water and nothing after 7;30pm

works for me as far as getting up in the night

I was told the same thing by the speech therapist.

I was having to get up during the night to pee.

What I do is I do not drink water after 7:00 pm. I also drink coffee during the day which helps to pee all the water away that I have had that day.

I also use an app called “Daily Water” to remind me to drink water and keeps track of the amount I have had.

Or use a modern gasunda pee bottle . Dehydration can cause headaches and bright orange pee. Pee Should be clear or straw colour

I already have a bottle but I can't control my urine when I'm sleeping. Thank you for replying quickly.

Very interested in the replies, thanks Illerpath for the question. I'm afraid I get up each time ........ usually 3 or so visits during the night. The problem for me is getting back to sleep after my final visit to the loo, which is around 4.30 am. I reluctantly remain awake gnashing my teeth until I heave myself out of bed around 7.30.

Have you spoken to your GP about this? There is a pill called amitriptyline which was originally used for bed wetting in children. I believe research has shown it also works in adults.

I have 7/8 cups of fluid per day, try not to have more than 2 coffees as it's a diuretic. I make sure I don't drink 2hrs before I go to sleep, usually 7.30pm .I take magnesium 100mg in eve someone told me it help them, it did but it took a few months. I only have wet myself occasionally I use a kyle drawsheet you can find them at care& Co website, just In case ! I really hate wetting myself, I still get up at night once. At least we can talk about it on this site. carol😶
