Hi all....I am 54 and have SCA 44. Am I still classed as vulnerable with low immune system?
The advice from Government is anyone with CHRONIC (long term) disease.....I always thought chronic meant severe (breathing or any severe difficulties)

Hi,
There will be a question and answer webinar on monday by ataxia UK and you can submit questions to this - go on the ataxia uk website for details. Briefly though, chronic in medical terms means something that is long lasting and wont get better - so its not the same meaning as everyday use e.g. when we say someone has a chronic cough we mean its really bad. When medicine says it that means it is associated with an illness that wont get better. The ataxias are classed as chronic conditions so the givernment guidelines apply. Hope this helps a bit but try and join the webinar for reassurance and advice. Take care.
Please could you let me know where to find this, Cuds? I have logged in to Ataxia UK but cannot find any mention?
