A recommendation for three good things for gluten ataxia sufferers! I am sure there are many others but these have helped my specific problems with foods hugely. Usual Gluten free flours make me ill. Links at the end.
I was delighted to find the 'ATK (American Test Kitchen) How can it be Gluten Free Cookbook'. Lots of understanding shared with the why as well. Delicious bread recipes, best scones ever. You have to convert weights and f to Celsius but not really a problem, I am so grateful they break down substance info. I have given the link for book 1 as you can look inside with this link, I have book 2.
I also found Pure Gluten Free to source ingredients, they have a drop down tick box that shows what each item contains, free delivery over £30, very quick, very helpful, good recipes online too.
I expect most people know of Coeliac UK, a great source of info and interest.
I am absolutely delighted to be eating delicious bread again!
I'm interested in this, although we have recently found M&S do a range of breads which veary by the area you are in. Love their oaty loaf and the seeded one is good too. They also do a lemon drizzle cake...
Tesco sometimes do a lemon drizzle cake too although I find their braed ofeerings poor and usually dried out from having been frozen.
I've never managed to bake a laof that looked remotley like a loaf let alone taste like one.
Well worth looking at the book and the ingredients supplier then, no nuts in the ATK bread. The bread I have been making is delicious and better than homemade bread I used to make! I make up the ATK flour and use with their recipe, it is really good. Worth looking at the UK supplier for most of the ingredients. Sorry I can't attach another pic here!
I only have book 2, try a library and then buy if it is suitable for you? I like cooking,(when I can..) and I like the explanations of why certain things work it has helped my understanding. So it is a bit 'thorough' but to have such lovely bread after years of not, makes it worth it to me.
