Hello all,

I am having trouble finding shoes I can wear in the spring/summer with a skirt. I have good boots for winter, sketchers to wear with trousers and Birkenstocks for hot days but I am struggling to find attractive shoes I can wear for work without falling over.

Anyone got any recommendations?

I'm a teacher- so work in school. Smart-casual attire.

Then surely Sketchers would be suitable, they look smart and comfortable in the tv advert..... and comfortable is what you need if your on your feet all day as a teacher?? 😀

I swear by Rieker shoes for comfort …. they are quite fashionable too, so hopefully you may find something there.

Have you tried Hotter . They fit like gloves and are so comfortable - quite expensive but worth it

Clark’s do leather brogues in all sorts of colours - I have pastel yellow ones that I get on really well with (you may need to switch out the laces for elastic ones though if your hands are bad). I find I need a bit of weight and a proper 1/2 inch heel in my shoes, and them not to slip around on my feet (e.g. no strappy sandals). Xx

my favourite shoe was a six-inch peekaboo toe slingback stiletto... ah, the days before my body betrayed me. so I understand. are you allowed to wear sandals? I love gladiator sandals, and they actually come in flats. have you ever clicked on 'flat' only to find the shoes are 1-2 inches? infuriating. the gladiator sandals have backs to them and fit snugly enough that your foot won't slip about. if you don't have to stand too much, you could also try ballet flats. they're adorable.

I have 2 pairs of Sketchers sandals that I LOVE. In winter I cheat and buy Sainsbury's slipper boots that everyone thinks are expensive Ugg boots x

My hands cant tie laces anymore so my shoes are canvas with velcro fasteners during the summer, and fur lined leather boots with velcro fasteners during the winter, but my feet and legs are cold permenantly due to Diabetes 🤨🙁
