When one looks at my eyes, all seems normal. In the meantime I have "downbeat" nystagmus which is only visible to experts who look for it and more crucially, I have a lack of coordination between both eyes so everything seems blurry and/or unfocused to me. I recently went to my third eye dr. who upped my prisms in my distance specs but for my prismless reading glasses , he recommended vision therapy . Neither he nor the other drs--two of whom are neuro opthamologists would blame nystagmus on this. They call my lack of coordination "low convergence."Thoughts?? xo N

My name is Jenna, 43, and. I live in Tasmania Australia.. I have upbeat nystagmus,, worse in left eye.. I wear my prescription glasses with the left lens fogged out. That helps alot.
I just developed "low convergence" a couple of years ago. I've worn glasses since I was 8 so someone would have noticed. the interesting thing is that the low convergence appeared a few months after ataxia affecting my legs, yet no one seems able to make the connection. *sigh
