Body not picking-up on tablets

Hi.

This is my first post. I have a problem with Receptors, resulting in depression tablets being totally ineffective. Is this due to my 23yrs of diagnosed ataxia? None of the tablets work, even a little. Even Ativan has no effect whatever. I just wonder if it's Ataxia related and if it's the same with anyone else.

Thanks.

Hi welcome 🙂 I’ve heard of medication possibly being ineffective because malabsorption was suspected. But, I don’t know if it’s entirely ataxia related. It must be very frustrating 😏xB

nothing seems to work on me either maybe it IS ataxia related.

Hi and thanks.

I understand that most of the Receptors, sensitive to tablets and they pick-up the chemicals in them - are clustered in the upper nervous-system. This is where the Ataxia operates in destroying nerve cells, I think. So maybe whilst it's quietly having its demolition fun, is it taking out the Receptors, too?

I'm aware of the danger of assuming any symptom is a result of Ataxia, so this might well have nothing to do with it. I, therefore, thought to ask the community - but it doesn't seem to be a regular complaint of Ataxia.

Very grateful for the responses.
