Hi, I have had Menieres for years. It's my daughter that has Ataxia. I take Serc too. The same as you but I've not had any ear pain. It might be the pressure in your inner ear. I've had a T tube inserted in my ear drum which had helped with this. Hope this helps xx

Hi, I have had these symptoms since January and was very ill with them and didn't have a clue as to what was wrong with me, very scary. I went to my GP at first they said it was Vertigo and I had to just grin and bear it and take sickness tablets as and when, which I did for a week then it happened again where I was bed ridden couldn't move, felt/was sick and the room was spinning very quickly. I went back to my GP as I was not prepared to live like this with this happening more and more and was preventing me to going to work and doing anything at all. He checked me with a little of test of moving my head from side to side but that didn't have any effect on me so he then prescribed that I had possibly Labrynthitis not virtigo and I have been given Betahitine tablets to take 3 times a day. I have had and still get ear pain and my hearing goes peculiar I seem to get the sound of crystals in my ear like popping candy! and feel slightly dizzy but not to the extent that I couldn't walk/etc as I had before I was taking these tablets. I don't appear to have any side effects apart from feeling really tired which isn't one of the side effects??

When I first got these symptoms in January my eyesight was also blurry which I thought was weird, I went to the opticians for a check up and his said my eyesight had got slightly worst, I did wear glasses for short sight but now I have them for driving which I didn't have before.

The tablets the GP has given me are working but I know if I wasn't taking them my symptoms would be back quiet severely and I would no be able to function properly. I am due to go back to the GP shortly and will ask for a specialist in this field as I am not sure what it is I have exactly.

If anyone else has the same please do let me know.

Regards

Debbie

Hi I'm taking betahistine tables 3 times a day and so far are keeping me normal I'm going to see a specialist in may to see what happens next. As I'm sure I can't be on these forever. Let me know how you get on.
