Is there any connection between Ataxia and Ménière's disease ?

I am asking because I have been reading an article in a magazine and they seem to be very similar Also both these illnesses can have sight problems which is rather interesting

Best wishes. Ted

Not sure if they do, however both my Mum and her sister (my aunt) have it and I have FA. It may just be a coincidence but who knows?

Hi, i was diagnosed with menieres in my early 20, i had then vesbillar disfunction , had a profound hearing loss, and ataxia, i did intensive tia chai and gave up my stick, Then 2 years ago my gait became worse, tinnitus, vertigo etc, i thought this was a menieres again. i was given an emergency appointment with a neurologist, i have grey matter desease, no reflexes in my ancles or knees, nerve damage in my right side, he diagnosed Spinocereballar ataxia type 6, i first refused genetic testing, and had a complete meltdown, feeling much better today, i am on citapram which helps, as well as all my meds for meneires, i wish you well Ted, i still feel very blessed, as i have amazing children and work collegues , so i count myself very fortuanate , excuse my awful spelling, x
