I have emailed the clothes for charity team to ask how much my bags were worth in money for Ataxia.
They emailed me back, I am very disappointed, For sending them 2 full and heavy bags, they were worth less than £5. I know that every bit helps, but a fiver, really. Couldn't they have doubled it at least.

I took the clothes I had collected to one of those cash for clothes shops that have popped up here and there lately. There were two very heavy full bags and one 2/3 full (of those huge white Clothes for Charity bags) and I got £30........better than a fiver but I was still quite upset by it. So many people had given so many lovely things and I would probably have been better off doing a Bootfair or putting some of it on Ebay.
I do think 'Clothes for Charity' seems to be quite a con......it sounds like they are helping out charities but actually they give a pittance to them - not actually sure what they do with the clothes but they must make money from it!
I am constantly racking my brains for ways to raise money...and awareness..............
I passed a cash 4 clothes shops today and they are paying 60p, that's better than 20p. Maybe I will do an indoor table top sale in the New Year.
I do agree about clothes for charity,, they will get a lot more money when they sell the items we donate.
They could even pay 40p and still make a lot from the bags.
The email did say that they had already donated £200 to ataxia. If that's correct, well done to every one who has sent in bag, bags, bags and loads more bags. God knows how many bags.
Well I wont be sending any more bags to clothes for charity.
