I started having B10 injections yesterday, I am lacking vitamin B12 so my Dr said I need these to bring my vitamin levels up. I really hope that the first lot do the trick and I don't to have them every few months . They might give me a bit more energy I need it in this heat,

I've had B12 injections 3 monthly for 3/4 months, but they didn't work so had to have iron infusion

Hi February, I hope so too, I was so tired yesterday I slept for two hours in the afternoon then after tea I had another hour. I usually have a sleep for an hour before or after tea but not both.

Never mind wasn't doing any thing special.

Oh right, how often and how long do you have to have them for? Do they work?

Hi all

I was feeling more tired than usual about four years ago and put it down to me having ataxia. However when I told my neurologist he took blood tests which revealed I was anaemic. I had to take a course of iron tablets which made me feel much better. My levels of tiredness returned to 'usual for me'.

Anaemia itself is not related to ataxia but although ataxia causes fatigue, being anaemic exacerbates the problem. Taking iron tablets does not treat the tiredness related to ataxia but does treat the tiredness related to anaemia.

This was a very valuable lesson for me. Although very easy to do, do not put everything you feel wrong down to having ataxia.

Hi Harriet, My GP said I was boarder line for Anaemia and fatigue comes with that, so hopefully these injections might work for me. I was putting extra tiredness down to the warm weather I know it slows a lot of people down. So fingers crossed. More injections to come.

i was found to be b12 deficient 2 years ago, i initially had to take daily injections for a couple of weeks and now get an injection once every 3 months just to keep my levels well within normal limits. If you have been deficient for a while you will definately notice an improvement after you have had a few injections, in terms of energy etc. good luck with them.x

Hi Ringabel,

I have had 4 injections with another 2 more next week, then 3 months after that. With more blood tests to see if they have had any effect or not. x
