Has anyone had any problems with undiagnosed eratic back pain
Hi johnpa.
I too suffer from this type of pain, it,s irritating when your not sure where it's come from, I haven't had a MRI as I always linked this problem with doing too much walking around and bending down, I havn't spoken to my Ataxia Dr, but am going to see him shortly. even the day I go to see my Dr, I know the back-pain is going to happen later in the day, as I have to travel quite away, not looking forward :-(, but life carries on

Mine was cause by an accident at work in 1994 and I still suffer pain from it even now, no broken bones, nothing to do with my discs, had them baffled at hospital and my doctors surgery.
It always seems to be worse in the winter months.
I have erratic back pain and I think it's due to weak core muscles! I'm doing exercises to strengthen these muscles. Hopefully that will help. I took a fall (due to my ataxia) about three years ago and really hurt my back. I went to my doctor, had an xray and was told I probably had micro-tears in the muscles or ligaments. I still get some discomfort now and again...,my best to you ;o)
On occasions I get severe attacks of lower back pain. I had a CT scan a number of years ago which showed that I had a bulging disc. Since then the pain flares up now and again. I take dihydrocodene and paracetamol tablets and perform back stretching exercises.
