Been researching this for a time now and this video is the clearest that I have found out there picture what happens and no salesmen pitching a better deal for only a little extra cash share with any interested in a procedure.

I have had both cataracts removed some years ago. The whole procedure was very bearable. The thought is far worse than the actual deed. I was joining in the conversation around me. The patient was laying flat on their back, and to remain still. Coughing was a thought. I was told to raise my hand, if I wanted to cough. I didn't. I was shopping the day after but be sure to wear sunglasses.

I looked up my nursing notes (1950s) the post-op care was vastly different, then. The patient had to be on bedrest for a week. The head was immobilised by support. Time marches on.

had mine one eye only in Nov,great outcome ,about 6 months from being identified as in the range by an optician.

A few words of advice ,there is quite a lot of drops for some time after, got a bit lax with mine not using them strictly as prescribed and ended up in the eye accident and emergency ,so do take the drops as described.

I have had cataract surgery on both eyes - Dec 5th and two weeks ago. The results are fantastic. I'm still putting drops in second eye but my vision is superb. As a previous person said the worry is worse than the operation! If you need this procedure don't hesitate.

Something that is worth remembering is spirometry should not be carried out for at least three months post operation as this affects eye pressure (know that when I blow my eyes are popping out) that can cause damage. Have had mine done one month apart and the video is an accurate reflection of my experience.

Thank you for that warning as I'm due to have full breathing test next week and I'm only two weeks post op. I will check with my doctor tomorrow

Marm, it is surprising how many "professionals" don't know about the gap post op. required taking a spirometry test. Enjoy your new eyesight, amazing how much more colourful everything becomes!!

I found out recently that I have cataracts in both eyes I am an artist and I am dyslexic no one seems to understand how not being able to see clearly affects everything. I do not understand why I have to wait for cataracts to get worse before they can be fixed. I am also unsure about some procedures involving lenses being inserted. Everyone sounds like they taken care of quickly so I am even more mystified by Doctors willing to wait?
