I have given up trying to find a 'reasonable' travel insurance premiums wheeler24 The cheapest I could find for a trip to Switzerland to visit my family there was £2000, but I think that was 'loaded' as I had quite a few hospital admissions between November '11 and Feburary '12 as well as being on a BiPAP machine and oxygen.
I wish you luck and hope that other members here are able to provide the information you require
Hi Wheeler 24
Check out our travel insurance pages where we list a selction of insurers who are experienced in providing insurance for people with lung conditions.
blf.org.uk/Page/Travel-insu...
We also have a deal with Unique insurance who will donate to the BLF for every customer who comes to them through the BLF.
blf.org.uk/Page/Travel-Insu... for more information on their services.
Hope that helps and good luck
Dominic
I used Unique and found them to be very reasonable but I think I was lucky as I don't need oxygen, and have had no unexpected hospital admissions (which is what I think bumps the costs up). Good luck - I'd take the advice above as I looked at a lot of providers.
Wheeler I hope you find what you are looking for.
I don't know if you know but the use of capital letters like that is considered as shouting!

I found that none of the insurers mentioned by the BLF were in any way better than any other Company. The premium quoted will reflect what the insurer perceives as the risk of you making a claim. Before I became totally uninsurable I did find that one of the better insurers was John Lewis.
I actually got an annual travel insurance with year with Age UK. Worth a go.
My travel insurance is pretty good ... Saga.
There is a big problem with most inurances - they do not cover for your carer/ fellow traveller - so if you have to have treatment away and need to stay longer, your partner i not covered to accompany you ! and if you need to come home for treatment your partner is also not covered to come home early ! mad, eh .... a market opportunity for an insurance company - there are so many people affected in this way.
NOT AN ANSWER BUT A COMMENT. USING CAPITAL LETTERS MAYBE REGARDED AS SHOUTING. I USE CAPITALS MYSELF PURELY BECAUSE I HAVE SEVERE RHEUM ARTHRITIS AND THIS IS THE EASIEST METHOD OF TYPING UNLESS I USE ALL LOWER CASE LETTERS
