Hi Ken, that seems reasonable to me and is actually something my husband Pete has had. It’s nothing to worry about. Glad you’re being looked after. Xxx
Hi, yes this isn't unusual if it's a possibility that tablets won't be absorbed. Sometimes B12 injections are needed monthly long term depending on the cause of the deficiency. Your GP may review things at the end of this treatment.
Hi. If your vitamin b12 is low you will feel very fatigued. The quickest way to increase your b12 is by injection. Tablets take a long time to be effective so your GP is doing the right thing by you. My husband has b12 injections because he has to take PPI s for gastric reflux and that can stop b12 being absorbed from food and so vitamin b12 levels become low.
My daughter has monthly B12 injections, so not just confined to the older generation.
A much better & efficient way of B12 absorption than tablets. It sounds as though you may deficient Ken. Take care, P
Hi Ken, yes, as others have said, not unusual as B12 from tablets may not be absorbed very efficiently.....the injections are far more effective. As you said you are 'feeling below par' - hope the B12 injections will help and you are soon feeling much better, take care, Jx
A friend of mine had to have these and she has copd, with no side effects x
I have a few friends who now have 3 monthly vit b12 injections. It seems some people just have too low a level and it really affects energy and mood. They tell me they feel much better since they started the injections. I haven’t heard of anyone having any problems . Hope it works for you .
