I have COPD & High blood pressure, and am going on a short cruise soon. Can anyone recommend an Insurance Company that won't charge more that the cruise costs!!
I am gobsmacked at the difference in prices of the various insurance companies

I have the same conditions as you, and got my last travel insurance from Virgin Money......very reasonable. XXX
Ha ha, I have just spent two weeks trying to get ins for a World Cruise. I settled for Avanti after taking advice from the folks on here. They were great in talking me through the wretched tick box process. Just hope that they will be as good if I have to claim. Have a great cruise!
Thanks Littlepom I will try them
BLF don’t have a list of insurance companies, but other people have found insurers by searching on the internet under ‘travel insurance for pre-existing medical conditions’. They can’t single out any particular company as being better than another because they tend to vary according to your condition, but they do have a link with an insurance company called Fish Insurance.
They're not recommending them and can’t promise they’ll be the cheapest but they do have a lot of experience providing insurance to people with pre-existing medical conditions.
You can contact them on 0333 331 3848 or visit their website healthunlocked.com/api/redi...
For every policy they issue, a donation will be made to British Lung Foundation.

Hate to be pedantic but isn't recommending your favorite insurance company the same as recommending your favorite minicab company to a visiting member? How about if said company made a donation to BLF? Best regards, JoHarr
I am not recommending them nor saying they are my favourites. I haven't actually used them and, If you read what I said, it specifically says the BLF are "not recommending them and can’t promise they’ll be the cheapest but they do have a lot of experience providing insurance to people with pre-existing medical conditions." It also says the company will make a donation to BLF for every policy sold and I would see that as a good thing. Wouldn't you?

Hi unfortunately once you have such an ailment insurance will go thro' the roof. Look back at some previous forums where people have managed to obtain something. Personally I can't get any anywhere without a mortgage.

My latest ones are via coverwise.co.uk - very reasonable, but haven't had to claim, and that is the ultimate test. Have a wonderful cruise x
Thanks for getting back to me
Because of the variables in conditions, age, destination health cost, there are no easy options on this, you do need to search, but a comparison site may help.

Using their comparisons, I used Get Going for my last 3 trips - Cyprus, Canaries & Latvia.
I have more wrong than you and I paid £24 total for me & OH. I'm 66 & unhealthy - she's fine.
But it's Europe... and isn't a cruise with the additional risk/cost of being airlifted.
I haven't needed to claim, so.. can't say how good they are in those circumstances.
Have just come back from a cruise on the QE. celebrating our 50th... anniversary.
We use ''' All clear.'''. They are not as expensive as some others ...
The main thing is they favour copd and other lung problems.
Worth a try.

Ps......don't forget to list everything ,even if it's no longer a problem , you have no treatment for , and no longer see a specialist and no follow ups.
That way if you do have a problem you won't get " dropped in it ".....
My Gp's words.
Hi.....had a lovely time ,except came back with a chest infection,,then followed it up with a head cold. Two lots of antibiotics and steroids later I am starting to feel human again.
Still got a wicked cough ,but thats he price we pay for cruising....

Same as you plus I had a minor stroke last year. Allclear gave us a special Cruise package deal for £700 to Europe. Previously in American waters and the premium rockets. Give them a try.
