Vaccinations

A couple of weeks ago, there was a chat going on about vaccines. And, I think it was swizzy who tought my GP was a bit behind with vaccines.

I went to see him Thursday, just for 6 month check, complete with mental list of things to ask him.

IHaving chatted about the weather and grandkids I asked about the need for a prescription for Covid vaccine. No, was the reply, just ask at the chemist`s and it will be done. So, next question, baering swizzy in mind, was about the Shingles vaccine. Is there a new vaccine available for Shingles? I think it is something like shingrix. Yes came the reply and it is combined with . I can`t remember, I`ll give you another prescription, and while we are taking about vaccines, are you up to date with Tetanus. Blamk look on my face as I have no idea when I last had one. Ok, we`ll put you down for that. And, as you are now 75 what about the Pneumococ vaccine? More blamk lokks from me. Right we`ll get that as well.

Thank you swizzy if it was you. Went on Friday to the chemist and asked about Covid vaccine, yes, step this way and i`ll do it now. I passed over my prescription, so the they can now ensure that they have Shingley thingy, Tetanus, Pneumococ and second does of Shingly thingy ready fot me. So, once again thank you for suggesting my GP was not on the ball.

Enjoy what is left of the holiday weekend. We had torrential rain yesterday which washed away a lot of the newly laid road, down though our garden, into the cellar. It also washed away all the gravel that the local water company had used to fill in the trenches they had dus for new pipes and meters.

Some people have all te fun. Granddaughter has just sent photos of the NASA space centre and grandson has sent photos of Sheffield where he has been competing in orienteering races. We have just played table tennis until the wind became too strong, and our hands were turning blue. But still good fun for a Sunday afyernoon.

Take care everybody, Chris.

Well good for you Chris. I am so glad that you kicked your doc into touch and that he gave you the vaccines that you need. I guess you took him by surprise with your knowledge and at least he was good about it. Now all you have to do is clean up your cellar!

Hi, he is very good and the cellar is my daughter`s problem not mine. I have enough to do in front of the computer. My wife was working earlier today and we can only think that she was aided and abetted by one of our cats. At least they can`t argue, but an entire paragraph disappeared and it took me hours to find the missing section. The rain is just about to restart, not as bad here as in the Dordogne where some villages saw a rise in the water level of over 2 metres, in the space of 2 or 3 hours. We can`t complain. No doubt I will be back in touch once I`ve enjoyed all the visits to the chemist for the different vaccines. I`ll space them out over the next 3 months, Chris.
