Not really a question

Apparently, there is a great shortage of vaccine in the U.S. I messaged my hospital and their reply was we don't have any. I supported Biden, but I'm afraid he has an unimaginable task before him. I'm pretty much assuming I'll be dead before a vaccine is available for a 68-year-old with emphysema. Is this how it is in England as well? The few vaccines that have been administered seem to have been done in a very haphazard way.

I am in Scotland . They have initially started with people in care homes and front line staff. The vaccination program appears to be gaining momentum . A vaccination centre opens this week locally to me. Myself ( underlying health conditions) and my husband ( over 70) expect to get or vaccinations before or around mid February.I hope with a new administration in the USA they can get a better system for vaccinations started .

I did see on our news that non USA citizen were flying in Florida to get vaccinations , that surely shouldn't be allowed.

I hope you can get you vaccinations in the coming weeks

I can’t speak for the rest of England, but as of three days ago, my local GP posted that they had vaccinated 90% of the over 80s and were starting with the over 75 s last weekend. Then they are doing the over 70s, then the cev groups.

I got a letter this morning with an appointment for 9th February. I’m in Scotland, 69 with emphysema. They are lagging behind England here but have prioritised a little differently and are still promising that all those over 70 and those with underlying health conditions will be vaccinated by mid-February. I hope the distribution issues in the USA get sorted out soon. Stay at home till they get to you!

Its bound to be different in another country, no good hankering after what happens elsewhere what's important is how its happening in the country you reside.

In UK we check the .gov site for updates on the information regarding covid.

When Dr. Fauci and other experts say you can expect to get vaccinated for Covid-19

If you continue to shield and use mask, keep distance, wash hands and change the air in your home you will reduce your risk of exposure to covid.

Stay well and safe.

Perhaps it like us in England or UK as a whole, it depends where you live. You have a huge population to get through over there. My American nephew in 40s had his the first week. He works in a hospital in MI. His wife, his brother & sister in law (New York) all teachers in 40s had theirs by mid January. I've no idea if any of their older generation have had it yet. Hang on in there, I'm sure Mr Biden & team have as a top priority. You may get rumours over there just as we do here, don't believe them but stay home, stay safe and if you have to go out wear a mask, take shoes & outer clothes off as soon as you get in and thoroughly wash your hands. Good luck chilly. P

I agree with you. Our TV station in San Antonio provides a website with different option to make appointments. We kept trying and eventually got an appointment for February. Don’t give up 🐞
