I bought an air physio 3 years ago and I wouldn’t be without it. It works every time in bringing up mucus. I can definitely recommend it. I’ve never tried the aerobika which a lot of people on this forum use with good results, but I can definitely vouch for the air physio. Good luck!
Plenty of posts on the same subject, just put air physio in the search box
I have one and I think its really good especially if you have a chest infection and need to get stuff up. I'm not easily pleased with various things that are now lying in my bedside draw but the Air Physio I love. I'm a bit lazy and don't use it every day to strengthen my lungs but definitely use a lot when a infection comes on. Take care and bye for now x
hi. Yes I have one and it's helped me. I haven't used it every day though I intend to get into the routine of doing so because I think it might help. I've used it when I've had a flare up from an infection and it has helped clear my airways. Easy to clean which is a bonus.
Have you ever used a bubble pap in the hosp? (Tubing in bottle of water that helps release the mucus in order for you to be able to cough up). Same principle - Picture a vibration occurring when you use one, and it releasing the mucus.
In the meantime try singing - the effect works on the same principle.
I have one called PEPE - Flutter Mucus Clearance Device (comes in a red pouch) and is much, much better for me ... it FEELS easier to use).
I have an Air physio, too, but feel it's too 'bottom heavy'. I purchased it after I broke and while I located another PEPE FLUTTER .
Sing as much as you can, while you can (it gets harder the more breathless you become.) It is so beneficial for more reasons than one.
I have one and they do work good for bringing mucus up
I bought the Air Physio used it just twice and was then rushed into hospital having to have an emergency chest drain put in as my lung was full of air. Got over that and was sent home. Went to use the Air Physio again and noticed on the box it said if you had ever had a pneumothorax (air on the lung) then the Air Physio should not be used, so I had spent over £100 all for nothing and was not amused. So I cannot say whether it is a good thing or not.
My husband got me one, but I rarely use it as I don't get a lot of mucus with my lung condition unless I have an infection. I do use it then, but I tend to use a salt pipe and salt lamp first to stop the infection getting that bad.
I have an Acapella. Same similar thing? Wokr really well. All the bestnb
