hi guys

i’m severe emphysema ,copd & and asthma

had my review with resp nurse today and she has changed my trixeo inhaler to trimbow 172/5/9 which i believe is stronger than a trimbow i had been on a few years back ,but this dose is for 2 weeks only is 2 puffs 3 times a day until she reviews me again in 2 weeks……

so ?

my question to you guys have you been on this strength before and if so how have you found it ? has it made much of a difference ?

my breathlessness has been really bad of late so i’m really hoping this is going to help .🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

looking forward to your replies xxx

Trimbow did not agree with me , made my symptoms worse. Stopped immediately.. it may be OK for you so give it a try xx.Sheila

My peak flow started dropping after a few days on Trimbow ….tight chest and breathless , same with Fostair . Told pharmacy and GP .

Others fine with them .

I have problems with both Fostair and Trimbow. I have a Respiratory team and they contacted the pharmacist at my surgery who changed it, and I was put back to original.i am no good with change. Good luck hope you get sorted. Xx.Sheila 🙌🙏

I found Trimbow excellent but was told I needed to give it 4-6 weeks to get the benefit, so not sure where 2 weeks sits.I've been on it nearly 3 years and found it really good

Hello Paco,

I hope you find it helps.

Are you doing everything else that you can to reduce the breathlessness ?

Some exercise, mucous clearance ( especially before inhaler ), mucolytics , relaxation sessions and so on. All these things help .

Hope the increased dose inhaler works for you.

Go well

I have been using Trimbow 87/5/9 for a good couple of years but take two puffs twice daily and I have not had any adverse effects

I've been on Trimbow 87/5/9 for a few years now and it suits me, but didn't know there was a stronger one. Hope it works for. x

Have to say I find Trimbow useless in comparison to my normal inhalers. I have tried to change over to it four times on the recommendation of the Respiratory team but it really doesn’t work for me

I find Fostair the best I hae had, so I declined Trimbow and kept my three inhalerrs, works for me.

I also have just gone onto high dose Trim bow after being on low dose for a number of years. For me it has always been very good. Respiratory are trying too lower my use of Steroids as I have had to have a number of courses during the last year.
