You may find covering your nose and mouth when you greet cold air Redruth. I wear fine Merino wool snood round my neck (brand name: Buff) and simply pull it up over my nose n mouth when I go outside. Keeps the bottom of my ears and neck warm too. Also made in synthetic &/or bamboo fibres. Buff are treated so the moisture wicks away (& with a small head I wear kids size so they stay up, adult size just slips down on me). Also breathing in through the nose gives more of the airway for air to warm before it goes downwards. With asthma my airways close in the cold so always do the above.

Hoping you feel better soon. It is crisp and frosty here in the north of Scotland with little soft flakes of snow. I love it and it does not bother my breathing. Damp foggy air however such as we have had for weeks is a problem.

Me too Redrum, try to keep warm and avoid going outside in this weather if you can. They always say to cover your nose and mouth so that the air you breathe in is warmed a bit, but personally I find that difficult. xx

I know what you mean about getting breathless just getting into a car! It is so essential to be able to get out sometimes for our mental wellbeing, but going from one temperature to another is a killer. We are all holding our breath, in a manner of speaking, for spring! xx
