Hi you beautiful people,

Not pleased to report I’m still in hospital following new lung collapse and heavy pleural effusion full of blood.

Suspected fungal infection with fluid sent for analysis but a few days after draining more fluid appeared.

Heading off this week for rehab on my neuropathic legs which refuse still to go upstairs.

I’ve suggested to the hospital physios to place a bottle of Merlot on the top stair and see if that makes a difference.

Father Adrian still won’t give me wine at communion despite serious bribery attempts… a man who takes his job far too bloody serious!

Read with interest robots carried out major heart surgery, another patient had all her blood removed and frozen while the surgeons dealt with multiple tumours yet they still can’t deliver a piece of toast and cup of tea above 4 degrees to my room.

Finally, the good people of Syria can sleep easily in their beds tonight and let us all pray a new stable democratic government will rise up very soon.

Catch up soon.

Mr B xxxx

Hopefully you will see some improvement in your mobility soon.

Thanks for making me smile and for your positive attitude to the world around you. You deserve that glass of Merlot.

I hope you get a flask of hot tea brought in for you from a friend or family member. X

Oh, dear, Mr B! What is the world coming to when you can't get a decent cuppa and toast?! And as for that Father Adrian, he needs a lesson in 'customer care'. I'm sorry to hear things are not going so well but perhaps the rehab will yield some results so you can get up the stairs again. I suggest a nice drop of brandy at the top might be a better incentive, but if you'd rather have wine, tell them to make it a decent bottle!!

I hope they soon get your lung issue sorted so that you can start moving forward in other ways too.

Meanwhile, your sense of humour does you credit and has given us a chuckle, but let's not ignore the seriousness of what's going on for you.

Get well soon!

Xx Moy

So sorry to hear you're still going through the mill. Perhaps as a special treat, when you eventually get that bottle of merlot, they will warm it up nice and hot. Much love to you and Mrs. B. It's a bit early for Christmas greetings, but Advent greetings instead. xxx💖💗💗💖

Thank you sunshineday.

I see your husband has neuropathy, can I ask please if this has got worse over the years or stayed pretty much the same.

I have it in both legs from knee down including the toes and the right leg will just not behave.

The left one seems to be improving!

Frustrating as it’s slowing down any recovery I may have as I’m very limited on distance I can go with stick.

Stay safe, this darned Covid is still lurking.

Hi again, my hubby's neuropathy has deteriorated quite a lot over the past 3 years. It's also complicated by rheumatoid vasculitis. He was admitted to hospital 10 days ago as his right foot turned the colour of red wine and he couldn't weight bear. Appears he also has hardening of the arteries but never smoked, low cholesterol and none of the usual cause for hardening applies to him. We've been told he'll never walk again as the damaged arteries together with vasculitis will not improve despite infusions with gold standard infusions. The options are amputation of leg below the knee or palliative care to cope with pain as there is no cure for the problem. Hubby's neurologist said he thought the cause of the neuropathy was vasculitis so he had a nerve biopsy which confirmed this not long after the neuropathy diagnosis. We're still trying to come to terms with this and as he has numerous health problems and has been told on the past he's too frail for operation we have chosen palliative care, especially as vascular surgeon said the op would be higher risk than for other people. So it would probably be worthwhile checking out the cause of your neuropathy. Hope your neuropathy improves, the neurologist told us the nerves may repair but it a very long slow process and may never happen. Let's hope for a better 2025 than 2024. Joy
