Early Action Can Change Everything

In the past few months, my dad went through a journey none of us saw coming. Early this year, he was diagnosed with lung cancer, and it felt like the ground had been pulled out from under us. We were terrified and overwhelmed, unsure of what lay ahead.

We started researching and talking to doctors, and after a lot of research, I found one that offered full-body scans, which gave us a clearer understanding of what we were dealing with. That early insight allowed the doctors to act quickly, and we’re so thankful for that.

With a combination of treatments, including chemotherapy and lifestyle changes, my dad started showing real improvement. A few weeks ago, his latest scans came back clear, and the doctors said he’s in remission. I’m sharing this because I’ve learned how important it is to take preventative measures, even when things seem fine. It was a long, difficult road, but we’re incredibly grateful to be here now.

If anyone is looking for information on full-body scans or early detection, feel free to ask me. No matter how tough things seem, there’s always hope.

My dad’s story is a reminder that early action can change everything!!

That's extremely good news isn't it?

Yesterday afternoon I had the flu jab so I don't have to worry about it now for another year!

Today I have felt like I have a hangover after having the jab so I booked in for an easy day today but have got the washing up to date so I don't have to worry about that over the weekend!

Here in Wales they said that they will write to you in due course about the autumn covid jabs.

I had flu and Covid jab on Tuesday but Pete only had the covid one as he doesn’t do well with two together. I felt achy and I washed out yesterday but fine today. Pete will have his flu jab next Friday.

Take care xxx

Unfortunately whole body CT scans/MRIs cost a lot of money privately and in terms of state healthcare they simply won't do them beyond a PET scan when you have already been diagnosed with cancer. Screening is also limited to those deemed 'most at risk' so just have to hope for the best.

PET scans pick up a lot, in my case the scan could not get a clear enough image. I agree with you, the importance of self awareness, knowledge and getting medical care is everything
