Sore ears with Oxygen

I'm on 15/24 hour oxygen at home plus ambulatory. As the top of my ears were getting a bit sore from the cannula tubes, I thought I would try the little foam strips. However, they simply fell off the tubes. Does anyone have any hints on how to make them work please?

Hello,

Sorry your ears are sore, I don’t have an answer as mine don’t get sore wearing the cannula. Hopefully someone will be along with answers.

Go well.

I wonder if the strips they make for glasses would work. I bought a couple of different ones from Amazon as my ears were getting really bad, have a look and see if they could be adapted. Good luck x

Your oxygen supplier can supply ear protectors for you. Ring them up and explain and they will send by post. I have some and are great as arched so stay put and comfortable . Good luck. Sheila xx

Thank you, Sheila. The protectors supplied by my oxygen supplier are straight and they fell off almost immediately. I thought that sealing them with tape might rub but perhaps I should try it.

Often with the foam strips you need to warm them for them to stick to the cannula.. so when you put them on the tubing, just hold them on the tubing in your hands for a few minutes.

Thank you I will give it a try.

My supplier is BOC and I am not entirely impressed by them or their website. I am finding the whole O2 experience fairly unuser friendly but that may be partly due to me not really wanting to have to use it.

I tried very small pieces of tape and that worked okay. Now, I put the cannula over my hair - it works for me.
