Hi everyone hope you are enjoying the summery weather. I have finished my first radiotherapy so its now on to the next step. But I don't feel much like the next step right now due to side effects , which they say should wear off in a few weeks . Its an exhausting path so I hope it has reduced the tumour as it was quite large compared to the rest. As Anyone else been through a multi tumour diagnosis of lung & other organs. ? I would love to share experience & outcomes.
But in the meantime have to go to eye care people to check if the inflammation is clear so I can have my other cataract done and some new glasses so I can read & see properly. Hope you all have a lovely day today .

Wishing you well Katie, fortunately most side effects don't last too long, once your treatment has finished you will feel so much better, just try to stay Positive ,relax & take plenty of rest & before you know where you are you will be out & about again & feeling brand new..Take care,& may God Bless you always..With much love, Primrose 123..( Maria)..
Did you have any pain in the region treated? I'm waking in the night with chest discomfort but when I suck an indigestion tablet it goes off. But the other pain feels like strained muscles and I don't usually get headaches . Its just the start of treatment as they have identified four suspicious area, but I beleive all are small . This one is the most avid on pet scan. Thats the only way through is positive & strong however some days when you live alone its not so easy. 🙂
Thankyou for letting us know how things are going. I hope that the side effects wear off soon and also that you will be able to have your cataracts done and new glasses as it will really improve your quality of life. XX
Thank you , I am struggling to see properly at present so role on when I can have the second cataract done . The first was done in June this year. Take care x
Morning Katie. My youngest Daughter has just finished her treatment of Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy .it was a gruelling fast treatment Chemotherapy once a week for 5 weeks and Radiotherapy every day for 5weeks then another 5 sessions of Bracken therapy on top.
It was hard and fast but was preventable as she was cancer free after her operation but she chose to go through the preventable treatment for her daughter .She is a single Mum to my Beautiful Granddaughter and she did it for her.
I must admit she has suffered and somedays I would find her on the bathroom floor curled up in pain and so weak. She almost crawled to her radiotherapy..the radiotherapy is hard and does have symptoms but you must go ahead Katie as its worth it.
My Daughter is recovering now and it will take a while . We have lived our worse nightmare as she was diagnosed on December 18th 2023 so it's been a long and stressful 2024 .8 months on we look back as we thought it would never end.
You have to take one day at a time Katie and you will get there.
Any time you feel like a chat and support I'm always here as have watched my daughter go this as she and my Granddaughter live with us.
It couldn't happen at a worse time as my Granddaughter had her GCSE's, Her Prom in June and her 16th birthday i7th July.
Her Mum went for Chemo the day before her Prom and on the morning of her Prom she went for Radiotherapy at 8am in the morning. Took her daughter to get her make up done
She spent the night before tanning her up and all the time feeling so ill but she done it. I'm one proud Mum but I would
have given anything to have gone through it for her .She never deserved to go through this as she is the kindest and most devoted Mum ever .but does anyone deserve it,no they don't.
I wish you well Katie. Until you go through this only you know what it's like..it changes your outlook on life forever and we all as a family will never see things the same again.sending Welsh cwtches (hugs) and healing lots of love xx.Sheila ❤️
Photo of my beautiful Darcy on her Prom Day.xxshes my World and so strong and has been a great support for her mum. Nursing her, holding her ,sleeping with her to comfort her. A lot to endure at 16 yrs of age. It has made us all realise what's important in life . Xx🙏💕👍
Good morning Garshe , thank you for reminding me there are others going through this nightmare , what a beautiful dress and one of my like colours. today I have pain in my back on the side treated but there are two tumours there so I am not sure wether its the lung or my kidney. I received some flowers yesterday in that colour . So sending you shared hugs & kisses from one family to anothr going through such a year of trauma, mine started on 19 Dec 2023 , life goes on and cancer like other illnesses has to be treated. This follow through made me realise I had forgotten my op for a curable cancer last August, as you say what a year 2023 has been. On the good side the weather is gorgeous today my great bgrandchildren were at the seaside over the weekend. Speak to you again soon , take care xxx
This is Darcy in her make up. She has never worn it before as she has beautiful porcelain skin as her mum kept putting sun block on her every day. .she's stunning and has a heart of gold . Perfect lips eyes and eye brows nothing false xx
I saw a young girl at the clinic on Friday in a wheel chair having treatment. This reminds me of my greatgranddaughter she has a back condition that could put her in a wheel chair in years to come its curviture of the splne runs in the family on her dads side. So its a case of always look on the bright side of life take each day as it comes. xx
Your granddaughter looks absolutely beautiful, Sheila. I hope she really enjoyed her prom. Thank you for posting that moving story. What brave people you all are. I hope things will look up for you form now on and that Katie finds your story inspiring. xxx Chris
Thank you Chris It was a bombshell when we were told My Daughter had cancer on Dec18th 2023
She looked in perfect health and had no symptoms whatsoever.
She went for a routine smear test and then had phonecsll to go to hospital and take someone with her. She was at work at the time
From then on it was biopsies, scans ,more scans, bloods. Mri . Pet scan etc. Waiting on . those results took weeks .
It was April before she had her operation ,A 6 hour op and 5 days in HDU. Then 2 weeks hospitalised .
She recovered from that then in June started 5 weeks of Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy and another 5 Bracker treatments. It was 5 rounds of Chemo 25 Radiotherapy one every single day and 5 bracker.
She has had it rough but is still going through recovery and grateful she is cancer free and the treatment is preventative.hopefully.
No one should take anything for granted as we none of us know what tomorrow will bring. It has changed our outlook on life forever.
This is a photo of my beautiful Daughter Hayley taken the night before she was told she had cancer at her works Xmas party. This is what cancer looks like so don't be deceived by looks. . She's on the road to recovery and planning A holiday in Dubai for her and Darcy in October. we lived there as my hubby worked there and Hayley and her sister went to school there. She ended up as cabin crew for Emirates Airlines .take care .xx.Sheila
Thank you Sheila for the details about lung cancer treatment. I did not realise how long the operation takes to recover from enough to go home. I guess in my case age would have a bearing on recovery and the after effects . My start was similar to Hayleys went for an Xray then told it was suspect for cancer to have re xray in 6weeks incase it was infection. Then panic stations as it was not infection. As you say hayley has come through it now and planning a future holiday which is lovely news every best wish for a healthy future. xx
Hayley had cervical cancer. Had a radical hysterectomy which was a 6 hour op..could have ended up with stoma bag but consultant got his margins. She is having radiotherapy as one margin was tight so making sure no microscopic left .it's gruelling treatment but she's done it and is now in recovery xx
I feel for her as there are emotional sides to this type of operation, its seen as the loss of your feminity. I had an hysterectomy quite some years ago but not radical I still have my ovaries. As we all know we are all different and you have to take Drs guidance on whats best for you. It helps if you can talk about it , I have another way of getting through by saying well all my treatments are giving the staff experience for future generations , my Son says that's just quantifying my decision. Have a lovely day Sheila xx
Thanks for the vibes Izb1, i needed big ones today , more pain where I had radiotherapy , so its a case of no pain no gain , I'll get by just some days it defeats the will. Enjoy this sun while you can x
aww bless you you are going through it ..hope you start feeling better soon ..radio isnt pleasant l had 20 sessions of it and yes very exhausting and sore too .....hope you can have your cataracts done too ..do take care x
A freind of many years just recently went through 20 weeks of radiotherapy he said its the side effects that get you down. Thursday I go to have my eyes checked at the eye surgery near me. I've had one eye done but the other one needs doing now before I can have new glasses.Catch is I had inflammation following surgery so on 6 week eye drops only two weeks to go if clear this week might get an appointment for next cataract op. Thanks for reply.
Thinking of you and sending a bit of love up your way, it must be so very hard to be going though this and I take a million hats off to you. ×××× 💐 💐 💐
I have been taking a million clothes off in the last four months for all the scans, biopsies and radiotherapy. I have lost some weight too with all the stress. but I am still going on a break this week while we have time to recover for the next part of the schedule. Thanks for your reply.x
Dear Katie, I hope the pain recedes soon; you are going through such a lot. It will be worth it in the end if it gets rid of the horrible cancers, but I wish it were not such a hard road. Thinking of you. Stay strong. Love, Chris xxxx
Katie just a thought Hayley found eating ice lollies helpful. Eases the burning and other side effects. I really feel for you ,I'm with you all the way . Xx.Sheila 🙏👍
Hi Katie, cant help as not been through it but just to say I'm really hoping and wishing for a good outcome and hope the side effects wear off very soon🤞🤞❤️
