Hi there. POC if you can use pulse then you can get light weight small ones. Remembering that the numbers on pulse aren't lpm. If you need continuous flow up to 3 lpm then they come on a trolley and they're very heavy.

I have O2 on movement so once in my car I wait for my O2 to settle then off I go.

I couldn’t manage without mine!

Use it everywhere when I am out and about and at home when exerting myself.

I do use it in the car when travelling higher than 1000ft.

It is pulse only so a prescription is required to allow you use one and what setting to use.

I 💗 my POC. I am on 2-3 LPM 24/7 and have a static oxygen and cylinder filler at home but without my POC I wouldn’t have the life I have. It gives me independence and being able to charge it anywhere, including my car allows, me to be out and about enjoying myself for as long as I want. I have hypoxia cause by Sarcoidosis & Bronchiectasis. Go for it!

Hi,

I am on oxygen 24/7 and treat my POC as my best friend. Without it I would lose a lot of my independence. It accompanies me whenever I go outside.

I also use it when driving, sitting it in passenger footwell or behind seat.

You may be able to get one on prescription but if that is not possible they are well worth the investment if you have the necessary funds. Unfortunately they are very expensive.

Hope this helps in your decision.

I, like Apach2, use oxygen 24/7 and couldn’t survive without my POC. I use 4/6 litres when out and about. I also drive whilst using it. I have it firmly secured behind my seat. You should be able to get one on NHS, do some research so you know what you want/are talking about and then stamp your feet until you get it!! It might take a lot of stamping, tell them your current oxygen is not giving you the quality of life that you want. Good luck. Joy x

Thank you all for your comments. I was expecting the Respiritory nurse today, but I must have got the days mixed. so will have an indepth discussion with her when she does turn up. I have been told I must have a sign when in the car stating carrying oxygen. So have made two one for front the other back. Not sure if that is true, but I suppose it could be. especially if involved in an accident, hopefully not, but it is in ht lap of the Gods as they say. Thanks again, see you weekend. take care. cheers Spooks
