Hi everyone, after over a year of battling bilateral pleural/pericardial effusion’s that almost cleared up thanks to prednisone, it’s all came back only worse and with a nasty bacterial infection too. My doctor is fighting hard with antibiotics to keep me out of hospital and I’m awaiting the start of immune suppressants hoping they might give me some reprieve from all of this. It’s been a rollercoaster of infections, hospitals and feeling absolutely dreadful. No sleep for 3 nights now so I’m shattered so hopefully morphine might kick in this afternoon and I’ll just nod off. All of my years of having brittle asthma I never thought I’d end up like this, it’s so debilitating.
take care
Wendy xx

I'm just so sorry that you're feeling so awful Numpty 😥, three nights without sleep is too horrible. Thinking of you and sincerely hoping you're asleep now 🤗
I'm sorry to hear this Wendy. I really hope things improve very soon. It makes things worse when one can't sleep. Please keep us updated if you feel up to it. xx 🌻
Thanks Sheila, I know my eldest daughter and grandson are off to North Yorkshire on holiday on Sunday for a week on holiday so really hoping the weather is nice for them. Xx
Here in Wales we haven't had our Summer yet. It is quite warm just cloudy and rain Hope your family have a lovely holiday.
Sadly I haven't been on holiday for a couple of years but I did enjoy my time overseas for 38yrs when my hubby was working there..
We spent many happy years in the Middle and Far East .mostly in Dubai. Also lived in a Doha , Oman, Sri Lanka India and even a short stay in Yemen
I'm disappointed I am unable to fly now but am grateful for the wonderful life when I was younger and my health was good..
Hope your health improves ,this growing old is not what I expected. I am fortunate as have my family near me and many don't get the privilege of old age so grateful for that
Take care sending Welsh cwtches (hugs)xx.Sheila 💕👍
How lovely you have those fantastic memories and yes you are correct some are not fortunate to reach getting old. It’s nice having your family nearby, I’m lucky like that too, 2 girls and a boy all grown up and I have 4 grandchildren. I just wish I was well enough to enjoy my children and grandchildren more and do the things I used to do with them, maybe one day.
Reading your Bio I also love the crime series. Especially the American Law and Order and Special victims Unit. (SVU). Mariska Hargitay who plays Olivia Benson is the daughter of Jayne Mansfield, who tragically died in a car crash when she was 2. I just love her acting she's a natural and so beautiful. I am hooked but horrified at the True Crime series to see how many horrific crimes go unsolved in the States. Hope you are feeling a little better today . xx.Sheila 💕
Very true and the crimes, even though they probably have a lot more police there than in the UK. My left side feels worse and the pain is there, in my chest too, very breathless just moving around, I’m still at home so so far so good.
Dear Wendy you must be so fed up of all of this. I hope you can manage to get some sleep and that the treatment starts to kick in to make you more comfortable.
I rang clinic and because my consultant is off the only thing they suggested was urgent care to get X-ray and possible drainage but whilst I’ve got this infection my GP doesn’t want me near a hospital if she can help it, hopefully the antibiotics do their magic.
So sorry to hear you are struggling with this Wendy. After being on high dose steroids for a couple of weeks I know what it's like not sleeping and can sympathise with you. Fingers crossed your doctor can get you back on track and the morphine helps x
So sorry to hear how poorly you are after having felt your health was improving. Hope that you can improve without having to go in hospital, and that you can have some calming sleep and rest. xx Joy
So sorry your are fighting this but it sounds you are not such an easy push over. I think it is the good memories that keeps us motivated. Sending virtual hugs also this morning Wendy 🤗
Oh no Wendy...how awful for you. So sorry to hear of this ordeal. I have had many sleepless nights mainly due to prednisolone. I was offered Zopiclone but still could not get a full night's sleep. I hope you will be on the mend soon. 🤞❤️❤️❤️
Hi Wendy, pleased you had at least two hours sleep. I know because I wake every two hours or so every night but lack of any sleep is far worse. Hopefully you'll get more sleep tonight🤞🤞❤️xxx
I hope when you get on the immunosuppressants they will help you.when I started on immunosuppressants it made a positive difference to me.
It sounds as though you’ve got a good GP.its too hot and stuffy on the wards, especially in this hot weather. If you’re struggling to sleep, try naps on the settee with a boring programme or a boring book.
When I’m struggling and unwell I always make a chart so that I can keep up with the medication.when they give you the immunosuppressants ask what you need to stop if you’re unwell and on antibiotics.
Nobody told me about this when I started on immunosuppressants, the respiratory physiotherapist told me about it.it’s been a bit of a journey of exploration all in all.
