My mother is 90 years old, she has been living with this coughing & spitting up a clear frothy phelgm for over 3 years now. She has 4 stents in her heart, Atrial Fibilation, leaking heart valve, & angina. She's been staying with me for 1 month now & I actually get to see how bad it is all the time. She lives out of state, so I haven't been able to witness how bad it really is until now. I have taken her to the a ENT doctor to rule out her sinus's & allergies, I've taken her to have a CT scan on her lungs, everything is good there. Next trip is to the gastroenterologist, to check for acid reflux, stomach issues, esphogeous problems..I'm just at a loss. Sometimes she spits up the phelgm for 4 to 5 hours, & it makes her so sick to her stomach, so weak. So as I read all these articles I see that she is not alone out there. Pray for her, I feel so sorry for her, she eats alot of chicken & rice soup, that's the only food that seems to relief her sick stomach, besides dramamine, & those gel cough pills the doctor gave her.
