Ern you painted this in one hour. That was quick. Well done.
The heart shape canvas makes a nice change and I like the detail of the flowers especially the large purple flower. Sorry I don’t know the name of the flower. x
This canvas I had used before, I blacked the previous painting out. I am used to candles, I was in middle of a landscape, I would never have finished that tonight.. The flower on the left is a small hydrangea -I painted a purple circle then with a filbert brush, finished with white. x
I hope you didn’t go over a nice painting. I can’t wait to see the landscape. My mum has them flowers in her garden but I never knew the name of them, they are very beautiful.
I went over similar, I could not post the same on, and only had that heart shaped. I have had a lucky life with plants and flowers. I had my own mail order business which I loved. lack of space meant working at a garden nursey and cuttings part time. Imagine, I was getting paid for a hobby of mine almost, was a bit harder.
I have never been able to look after plants even indoor plants. My husband slabbed all the garden so no plants. I just don’t think he wanted to cut the grass every week. Must of been lovely having a job that was like a hobby.
Yea I had some jobs I felt a prisoner - I saw a large fuchsia next door, that gave me the idea. a greenhouse and I was away. It was fun.. Next door cuts our grass, £10 every two weeks, a bargain.
Thanks, that’s lovely heart with flowers and candle. I use to like painting, won prize at school, but had to focus on usual subjects to take school certificate. Regards Jean x
Thank you Threecats . Yes it took an hour - Plus the time to black and dry the painting., ready to paint on. I am used to black canvases TC , and was the only way to get a picture ready to post last evening. I am also used to black canvases.
thank you Ern for another lovely painting, and a beautiful title. With Easter close let's all hope for peace, love and forgiveness all around the world. xxJoy
I’m sure we are Ern , time heals and in this sort of thing it’s usually quite quick , in the cold light of day everyone soon realises life’s too short 😊 I hope you’re keeping well , I wasn’t suitable for immunotherapy in the end , unfortunately my cancer is rare and aggressive so they were very wary about the treatment but I have just started on low dose targeted therapy for the shortest time before a break and so far no Ill affects 😊 xxx
Sorry you are not suitable "immunotherapy" - I am unsure if I am getting any more - I was low grade cancer, then high grade, then back to low grade. I hope your targeted therapy works, I wanted that treatment, but they said would not work with Bladder Cancer. Life is to short to waste, to are so right
Hi Ern, lovely painting again. Can't imagine how you thought of that and painted it in one hour. For someone like me who can't even draw a straight line I am in awe at your talent. My Grandad, like you, grew plants all his working life. He worked for a nursery and the greenhouses were opposite his "tied cottage" where he lived. He also had a back garden full of veg and the front was full of flowers that he sold to the local corner shop. If I was really lucky he'd pick some pansies for me to take to my teacher. He had 17 grandchildren so took a long time for my turn to come round 😅xxx
Thank you Nula I was painting something else, but I knew I had this canvas. once black then it took about an hour, I am so used to and love these black canvas paintings. I was lucky in my work, I worked in finance for a while before that. I hated it. I loved my own business but I liked meeting people at the nursery, -Sounds a nice man and we bought some pansies day before yesterday, I cannot boast 17 grandchildren though Nula - 4 granchildren. wow xxxx
People tended to have big families in those days. They had 6 children so hence the 17 grandchildren :0) (smiley face - system won't let me do emojis for some reason) xxx
