What a great way to start the day, seeing your painting of a cheerful pot of flowers! Thank you for sharing this one, Ern 😊I particularly like the addition of the Gypsophila in the background x
My mum loved gypsopyllia as she called it and always stuck a bit in her vases. We had to be careful where cricket balls ended up. Some plants were sacred; others less so. Your painting is really cheerful. You are following in the footsteps of Van Gogh and a lot of clever Dutchmen. xxx
Wheat field with crows is very dramatic - Yes his sky's were special, his brush strokes was unique. Wheat Field with Cypresses had conifer type trees. The Church at Auvers showed another side of Van Gogh.
You obviously know VvG better than I do. My first encounter with him was as a child in the Tate Gallery, wondering why anyone should want to paint a yellow chair.
I am no expert on Van Gogh - i watched a brilliant series on BBC1 about the life of Van Gogh when i was in my 20s - The yellow Wicker Chair, I guess only he would have painted that and nothing else.
An uplifting cheerful painting - thank you Ern 🙂. Not entirely sure what impressionist art is but it's lovely anyway 👍(Guessing it means 'looks like the real thing' but I'll look it up 🙂) xxx
